How Your Settings Shape COI
COI (pronounced "Koy") is your calm, talking companion. A few small choices in Settings change how it sounds, what language it speaks, and what it knows about your day. Here is what each one does.
🔊Voice — how COI sounds
COI reads its replies aloud in a voice your family chooses. Open Settings and pick a voice once — it is the same choice everywhere: the Library's read-aloud, Home replies, and the very first greeting all honor it.
If you want a richer, more natural voice, choose a "COI Natural Voice" in Hearing & Audio. COI uses it whenever it can, and gently falls back to the voice you picked if the service is busy. There is no hidden voice: if a male voice is chosen, COI speaks with a male voice.
🌍Language — the way COI speaks with you
COI speaks in your heart language. Choose English, Tagalog, French, or another language from Settings — COI replies in that language, its voice reads with the right accent, and even when the internet drops, COI answers in the same language.
Tagalog is a first-class language here. If you switch back to Tagalog mid-conversation, COI follows you quietly — no fuss, just "po" and "opo" like family.
📍Location & weather — what COI knows about the day
COI reads the real sky. When you allow location (or set your city in Settings), COI knows where you are, what the weather is right now, and what tomorrow looks like — and it shows a small live map on your Home screen.
Ask "anong panahon bukas?" or "what's the weather tomorrow?" and COI answers from the actual forecast, never a guess. If location is off, COI simply asks which town you are in — it never invents the weather.
♿Accessibility — comfort for your eyes and ears
Accessibility settings make the studio easier to see and hear. Large text, high contrast, and reduced motion also reach COI: when these are on, COI speaks more slowly, keeps its glow gentle, and never flashes.
🔒Privacy — what stays yours
COI remembers your preferences, not your private moments. Your journals, moods, and notes are never shared unless you approve it — family, caregivers, and clinic staff only see what you choose to share.
Your PEI (Personal Experience & Interaction) profile is yours alone. Nobody changes it for you, and you can export or delete it whenever you wish.
